Blondie Bars

If you haven't done a single thing for Valentine's Day, there's still time. I on the other hand, ordered a nice meal for dinner tonight as a surprise for C. The surprise was ruined 45 minutes after I placed the order last week and realized I had a late afternoon meeting and couldn't pick up dinner tonight. So I had to ask C if he'd mind picking up his surprise dinner.

This weekend I made my first ever Pinterest recipe!  Valentine's Blondies.  It's pretty much just a cookie bar. You could omit the M&Ms and just ice the whole thing. YUM. Obviously, the Valentine's M&Ms can be substituted for regular or whatever holiday you're celebrating. I decreased the amount of M&Ms as the one I made had too many.

Blondie Bars

1 cup flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tbs. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup butter
3/4 - 1 cup M&Ms

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt butter and combined with brown sugar. Let cool and mix in the egg and vanilla extract.

Slowly add the rest of the dry ingredients. Stir in 1/2 cup of M&Ms.

Pour into a greased 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining M&Ms on top.

Bake for 20-25 minutes.
