Fashion Friday: The Holiday Party Dress

With Christmas and New Year just around the corner, I'm sure you all have tons of parties to go to and need some suggestions.  Since the only party I'll be attending is our church's Christmas Eve service, I thought I'd share with you what I would wear, if I were invited to a party (other than Jesus' birth).

1. Colorblock Sheath Dress.
I love the shine on this one.  A little shawl and it'd be perfect for a night on the (cold) town.  For the record, I approve of either color.

Which reminds me... My sophomore year of college I attended the Evans Scholar Ball with Lora and her brother.  I purchased a super cute dress and even modeled it for the cleaning lady.  She loved the dress, but also thought I needed a shawl.

I didn't go with a shawl, but isn't Lora so pretty?

2. Jessica Howard Mixed-Media Halter Dress.
This one is keeping along the same lines as #1.  I think I like this one better.  I like the pleated skirt a bit more than the pencil skirt above.

One. Word.  SEQUINS.

I am a firm believer that everyone needs a little black dress or four.  I am now a firm believer that everyone needs a little red dress as well.  Shiny red is also good for those who like to stand out (like myself - most of the time).

Stay tuned next week for an Ugly Christmas Sweaters Fashion Friday.  Submissions are more than welcome. And since my readership is so low, if you submit something it will most likely appear on the post (unless it isn't truly hideous).

And if you hear of any good Christmas or New Year (preferably New Year) parties please try to get us on the guest list.

Happy Weekend!
