What we didn't do this weekend, take GMac to Touch a Truck

We had every intention of taking GMac to the Touch a Truck event this weekend, but didn't.  Here's what we did instead.

Friday night I went to the Red Cross Power of the Purse auction (now an annual thing as I've gone two years in a row!) thanks to the generosity of my other mother, Joyce.  We had apps and zerts and wine and dinner and so much fun.  I won a live auction item!! (It looks more beautiful in person.)

Saturday was a busy, busy day.  I went to get flowers for the front landscaping (probably got too many, but that didn't stop me from planting them all).  We also went bowling and dinning with Mom, Dad, and Emily for Dad's belated birthday.  The kids loved the bowling (they beat Grandma!!) and we had dinner at Brew Dog. I don't like beer, but the wine (there were a total of four red options) I had was good and the food and atmosphere can't be beat.

It was so nice of Monkey to choose cards large enough so that Grandma and Grandpa didn't need their glasses.

Sunday we Sunday Schooled, churched (what a good church it was), and grabbed McDonalds for lunch (our old regular Sunday).

I almost suggested to C we watch Indiana Jones as a follow up to the Sunday School lesson.

C worked in the garage and I got some flowers planted.  Then he went to buy a new mower because he took apart the other mower last year trying to fix it (didn't work) and including last year's pre-disassembly maintenance and this year's it's just cheaper to get a new one (we don't do fancy mowers). Plus, C is determined to fix the old mower so I have to say, "You were right, I was wrong."  I'll keep you updated on that.

We had chicken and zucchini for dinner and rosé that I won at the Red Cross auction. I finished the flowers, C mowed the yard, and then we mulched some.

Now we're ready for our three day weekend!
