The Week of Monkey

Hi! Remember me?

I finally have some time to sit down and update you on our whereabouts (but not really, because STAY AWAY ROBBERS!) .

GMac has been at Grandma and Grandpa (or MawMaw and Papa) Elseas house this week.  We're headed to see him soon!

That means we've had a week of Monkey around here.  If you follow me on instagram, you already know that. If you don't follow me on instagram, GET ON INSTAGRAM people! It's a loverly place where I post regular pics of the kids (and dumb things).

Saturday night C returned from dropped off GMac and we went to dinner at the restaurant of Monkey's choosing.  She chose "the place with seashell pasta" aka Olive Garden. We were going to see Trolls, but realized the reviews weren't that good and Moana had just come out and Lin Manuel Miranda did the music so everyone was on board.

Sunday was church and lego making. C went to work and Monkey and I headed to church to decorate followed by hot chocolate and Christmas lights.

Monday night we make gingerbread houses.  Please note, if you're house is on the market and you have a showing scheduled for the next day, it's probably not the best idea to make gingerbread houses the night before.  She also drew a picture for GMac and dictated a letter which will probably arrive in Missouri after we do. Monkey was promised she could sleep all night in our bed with us.  You know what's nice? Getting in to bed and having it already warmed up thanks to a four year old!  C got home from work in the wee hours of the (the trend of late) and decided he did not want Monkey in his bed (something about not being able to sleep) so he moved her back to her bed.  There were plenty of tears and a promise of a re-do Tuesday morning.

Tuesday evening I picked Monkey up from the babysitter and we headed to the mall for pretzels, an impromptu visit with Santa (we want a Barbie ice cream truck, princess bike, and choo-choo train), and searched high and low for proper shirts for wedding outfits for this weekend.  We had a picnic dinner while watching Mickey Mouse (we're big on picnics while GMac is gone) and did puzzles on the floor.  Monkey had a hair appointment at 8:00 p.m. (I know, late!) where she got a cut little cut, braid, and sparkles!

And so ends the week of Monkey. We're ready to see GMac and say good riddance to November! November has seemed like such a blah month, come on December! We're ready for you!
