Fashion Friday: October Birchbox

I'm craving a trip. To Chicago. To New York. To Somewhere.

Yesterday was the end of October (and we did not get to Trick-or-Treat) and today is the beginning of November. You're welcome for that calendar lesson. It's the would be teacher in me. I did, after all, take a year's worth of education classes before deciding that 1) I didn't want to have to submit lesson plans to a principal ("a principal is your pal") weeks in advance as that is a lot of prep work for a very big procrastinator and 2) I am not and early riser and wouldn't do well having to be at school early every.single.day (I went to a private school were the high schoolers started at the same time as the kindergardeners (score!) which also meant I could take all of my siblings (grades 10, 8, and K) with me when I was a senior).

So I'm not a teacher.

This post is supposed to review my October Birchbox so let's get on with it, shall* we?

*I'm learning in my new job "shall" means "you have to".  Who knew?

POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer.  I found out this was a British product and thought I would love it.  Wrong.  The consistancy is too sticky.  The applicator is a paddle which is awkward to use (still haven't figured it out) and the product has absolutely no taste.  It's not like I want to eat my lipgloss, but it helps if it tastes good on my lips.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and Pure Muslin Cloths. Well, the box was pretty and exciting to open but 1) I haven't tried this product yet and 2) I don't like that this counts as two things in the box when you need both to work with each other. I felt a bit gypped.

Chapstick Hydration Lock. This was a "freebie" but since the cloth and face cleanser were the same thing I felt like this wasn't a real freebie, but hey, at least this tastes better than the lip gloss that actually counted as an item.

Now for the stuff I loved.

Miss Jessie's Creme de la Creme Conditioner. I didn't realize I liked this product until well after I used it. It was a salon quality conditioner which was great. The package was larger which was good because I felt like I had to use a lot of product.  All in all, better than I expected.

Folle de Joie eau de parfum. This. I. Love.  Ladies and gents I have found my next perfume. It's delicious. The tester is already halfway gone (I used sparingly) and I'm saving up my birchbox points to get this.  So excited!

There you have it. Least favorite to favorite (and my first, MUST PURCHASE of my subscription).

Happy weekend!

This post took me 3.5 hours to write and publish from start to finish.  That's what having a kid does to you.

I got the exact same box and I HATE that conditioner. I felt like I had slathered fabric softener over my hair, the smell was insanely strong... I threw it away. I've gotten other products from the same company with the same feelings. On the other hand, I really like the face wash and the lip gloss :)
