a trifle

I "cooked"!  I use that term very loosely. I really baked. Well, sort of.  It was a dessert so that means I baked, but what I really did was assemble.

I assembled this trifle and it's much better than that other one of Rachel's you may be thinking of.

Anyway, back to my trifle (a recipe I picked up from Aunt Janet). It's easy-peasy and takes 10 minutes top.

Trifle

One family size package of instant vanilla pudding
1 container of whipped cream
1 can cherry pie filling
1 angel food cake

Prepare the pudding according to the directions and refrigerate for 5-10 minutes until set.

Layer chunks of angel food cake, pudding, cherries, and whipped cream.  I did it twice, but you could just do one layer.

You can make this right before serving or the night before.

The other thing I usually do for church functions is use small, clear plastic cups and make individual servings (obviously I went all out for Clark's funeral lunch).
