Weekend Rewind + Some Other Stuff

We had a great weekend.

Friday night we went to Barnes and Noble with Emily for some cheesecake and to look for some books (which we couldn't find).  Saturday C continued his new tradition of taking Monkey to Starbucks while Mommy sleeps in (best tradition ever!). The rest of the day was spent feeding Monkey and napping. Then Sunday after church we took a nap, iChatted with Grandma and Grandpa Elsea, and then went to the Ocean Club to celebrate my parents 30th anniversary.  Crab cakes. Filet Mignon. Scallops. Calamari. Chicken. Three kinds of potatoes (whipped, fried, sweet). Salad. Fondue. Chocolate cake. Carrot Cake. Baked Alaska. Key Lime Tort. Peanut Butter Pie. (Half priced) wine. Yummy food and great company!

Monkey was exhausted from eating twice while we were there.

Oh, look. I was there too.

You can sort of see in the last picture that Monkey is wearing leggings. They are SO adorable. I will be getting some more asap. We must have the most stylish baby on the block.

We also went back to Barnes and Noble where we found what we were looking for.  I was able to get my very educational reading while C went with some sort of magazine.

In other news, I'm currently loving Dogshaming and cannot wait for us to get a puppy this spring. I think Monkey and the puppy with be the best of friends.

C and I are going to see Wicked this coming weekend and I couldn't be more excited. I plan on having us listen to the soundtrack the entire way down and back. Eight hours of Popular and Defying Gravity. Score! Also, there doesn't appear to be a Diner, Drive-in, and Dives location in Louisville so any suggestions for lunch next Sunday are greatly appreciated.

We have also come to enjoy the NFL more than we should (read: at all). We don't know what it is, but we like to watch it. A lot. For me I think it's because I'm fully embracing Fall since I couldn't really embrace Summer. I think for C it has something to do with the replacement refs.

I'm still trying to get around to making the Almond Tort I told you about a few weeks ago. I have two cans of (expensive) almond paste sitting on the counter.

Which reminds me, I need to write baptism thank you's. I've got the list and everything ready to go, just need to sit down and write them.

Our water line is fixed! That means it's time for something else to break. The shower head decided it was it's turn so now we have water throughout the house and no water pressure in the shower.

One of these days I hope to have a fully functioning house.

The best part of 30 years is 4 kids + 1 bonus son + 1 half-pint. Thanks for an incredibly sweet evening and thanks be to God for our family.
