Monday through Friday (minus Thursday)

I had a ton of few things to post this week, but a baby and work and recovering from Monkey's Recognition of Public Baptism (or something like that) got in the way. So in order to share it all I'm going to just pour it out there.  Here's what you would have seen daily.

Monday
Last Tuesday our water line to the house broke/ruptured/cracked causing at least 120 gallons of water to pour into our basement.  We are now the proud owners of a dehumidifier and soon will be the proud new owners of a new water line (with a hefty bill to boot). The perk is that we get free water until it's fixed (or until the city decides to shut it off). Who knew a simple hose hook up through the outside spigot could provide almost the same water pressure as a regular water line.  Thanks, Professor (our next door neighbor who's name we don't remember) for the hook up! (He gets free water too.)

Another perk is that the fix may include ripping out some of our hideous shrubs out front. Score!

Then on Thursday our kitchen sink became clogged (not of our doing, but of years of yucky build up). It's fun to try to get a plumber at 2:00 p.m. when you have loads of company coming at 5:30 p.m. that evening.

Tuesday
I have pumped 300 times (really 600 times).

The Medela Pump in Style seemed a bit excessive and luxurious and not necessary when I bought it before Monkey was born (with gift cards I only spent $60).  Now I look at it as the best purchase we made. I've pumped at home, at church, at work, and in the car (here's to having an outlet in your vehicle).

The sale price was $260, so after 300 pumps and only spending $60 I've spent roughly $.20 a pumping session or $.10 per individual pump. Not too bad considering the other option was formula and that's pricey.

Even if you consider the regular sale price of $260 it costs $.86 per session or $.43 per individual pump.

Plus I plan on sharing the pump with family/friends who need it down the road.

Money very well spent.

Wednesday
After yesterday: trash cans were stolen, power went out for several hours (the power has gone out more in the last 3 months at this house than it did in the almost 4 years we lived in the apartment), and finding out that Monkey wasn't nursing efficiently enough to skip the bottles, I fell off the bandwagon and bought these...

I finished the package tonight (Friday) and am back on the bandwagon.

Thursday
(I've got nothin')

Fashion Friday
I used a gift card from Mama E. to purchase these nifty sunglasses...

I'm normally not a fan of aviators as they remind me of glasses that convicts wear.

But in this case I couldn't resist.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to preschedule a post or two (but probably just one) for next week.
