Weekend Rewind

I went back to work today. It was bittersweet.  I enjoy being productive in the outside world, but also love my time with Monkey.  I guess that's why God created part time work.

Friday was my last day of maternity leave so we spent it just chillin' (and going to the grocery story because we need foods to eat).  We also stopped at Wal-Mart to find out if the gas tank for the grill was out of gas or if it was full (meaning our grill was broken).

We got the grill in June (Father's Day to be exact) and didn't think it should have ran out of gas that quickly, but it had (which was great because it meant the grill was fully functioning) because:

     1. We grill out several times a week and
     2. Apparently when you have a 5 burner grill it goes through gas a bit quicker than a 2 burner grill.  Who'da thunk it?

Since the grill had gas we were able to grill out on Friday night (chicken, potatoes and zucchini fries).

Saturday morning I got up to let the dogs out (because I had picked them up the night before and Mom and Dad were still on vacation).  Then the rest of the day was spent lounging around, feeding the Monkey and pumping milk for her.

Then C and I went out on a date!

A new Brazilian Steakhouse called Rodizio (which is Portuguese for "muy, muy expensive") opened up in Columbus and we thought we'd try it out (because we are big fans of Rioz in Myrtle Beach.

Here's the run down...

Rodizio - more of a meat and side dish selection (C liked the meat better).  Customer service was also better because it was as crowded (the pineapple guy kept the pineapple coming and was quite surprised when I told him I was full). You also develop short term relationships with the staff. They will come to you to see if you want some more of whatever you have had a lot of (where as C is still waiting for the lamb from our trip to Rioz last year).

Rioz - I think I like Rioz more because it reminds me of vacation.  I also prefer their pineapple (with cinnamon!) and their salad selection is hands down better.  The decor is also better (a bit more upscale) and the desserts look (and I'm guessing taste, but we didn't get dessert at Rodizio) better.

I think C thought both were comparable where I still think Rioz is a bit better (again, their salad bar is da' bomb).

We got back pretty late and cuddled our monkey then hit the hay.

Sunday morning we went to church and monkey once again did great.  She woke up during the sermon (must be Grandpa's voice) and had to be taken out during the prayers as a preventative measure as I thought she was about to poop and her poops are as loud as a sonic boom and I didn't think it was nice to interrupt the prayers with a massive monkey poop. Turns out she didn't need to poop, but was hungry.

After church we went to McDonald's and then spent the rest of the afternoon at home soaking up the remainder of my maternity leave (which meant taking a nap, doing a load of laundry, and going on a walk).

Then this morning I was up bright at early (7am, which is the earliest I've gotten up in 7 weeks) and at my desk by 8:30. I was quite pleased with myself.

Now to replicate that on Thursday....
