cornhole on a friday night and a trade deadline on sunday

It's AUGUST. Which means.... It's my birthday month!! C only lets me celebrate the week of my birthday. It took me a while to get that out of him so I'll take what I can get.

Here's a brief overview of our weekend:

Friday:
Cornhole in the red room. I score 2 points in the first two games and roughly 8 or 9 in the third game.  But we still lost all three. Sorry, Mark.

Nice paint job, Drew.

After we were done we went to Cold Stone (because Mark had already had soft serve earlier that day).  We tasted the Strawberry Basil ice cream because I like to expand my taste bud horizons.  I asked the guy what it tasted like. He told me "strawberries and spagehtti sauce".  Sure enough, it did.

Yuck.

Saturday:
Spent the evening following the baseball trade deadline. while C watched a monkey movie.  Haven't had a vested interest in quite some time as the Indians are known for trading their talent for nothing instead of trading for talent. It's a fun thing to watch when you're in a playoff race.

Here's a brief recap:
- Indians are talking with Rockies to acquire Ubaldo Jimenez (great name) for Pomeranz, White, McBride, and Gardner.
- Pomeranz and White are scratched from Aeros line up.
- Ubaldo was pulled from the line up.
- Ubaldo is back in the line up. Warming up.
- Ubaldo takes the mound for the first inning (throws 45 pitches and gives up a few runs)
- Ubaldo is told after first inning that he's been traded.
- Pomeranz not elligible to be traded until August 15 due to rookie contract. Will be PTBNL.
- Ubaldo must pass physical (only trade this weekend which was dependent on good physical).

To say I was a bit nervous and excited would be an understatement.

At nine our DVR started two record two things, meaning C had to stop watching the monkey movie so we went to Dairy Queen for a cup cake (and blizzard) and came home to watched Love and Other Drugs which I had borrowed from the library. C originally thought I said I borrowed Eleven Other Drugs.

Sunday:
Around 3:30 p.m., the deal was done. Ubaldo is an Indian.  And I couldn't be happier.  Here's an article for those who think the Indians gave up too much.  And here's a commercial I saw last week.  MLBastian mentioned this could be redone to include Asdrubal and Fausto.

Sorry if you're not a cornhole or baseball fan. This post probably doesn't appeal to you. I'll be back tomorrow with some non-baseball stuff.

Maybe.
