Fashion Friday: The LBD (or LCD)

I'm in search of a LBD (Little Black Dress) or LCD (Little Colorful Dress) for my cousin's upcoming nuptials next weekend.

I didn't realize I needed one until my sister, Fashionista to the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, informed me that my choice wasn't dressy enough.  So now my mom and I are going up to our home away from home this week to search for a new (cheap) dress.  I think we'll be successful.

As I do whenever I'm looking for a new piece of clothing, I first scoured the internets. Here's what this week's search unearthed.

1. By a Stroke Dress

The fashionista says that this would be too short with my long legs, but I love it and it is my number one choice.  Reminds me of another skirt I have from B.Moss (which used to be at the mall, but closed, but is now online, but I don't shop there because I want to shop in the store - so there). I'm hoping the Francesca's at Easton at least has one that I can try on.

2. Date the with Wizard Dress

I have a date with C, not the Wizad, but I think this dress is adorable and unlike anything I own (which is a plus).  It's also great for summer (or the end of summer as the case may be).

3. Mullany Dress

Why are the cutest dresses always the most expensive?

4. Knotted Starfish Dress

It's on SALE!  It's on SALE!  But it's probably not at Easton... And I'm not sure what size to order online...  And I can't return it if it's the wrong size...

5. Embellished 2-in-1

I never knew the correct name for these dresses until today.  And now it makes sense.  I've wanted to take the fashion leap into these dresses but have never had the guts.  Maybe now is a good time to start.

6. Summer Retro Dress

I do not consider this dress to be "retro", but I do consider it to be super cute.  Maybe it's just a sign that retro is very much in style right now.  Needless to say, I won't be adding this dress (or the next) to my collection this week as they have to be custom made.

7. Party Dress

I. Love. This. Dress.  I also have no where to wear it (other than the wedding, which it wouldn't be ready for even if I did get it).  I'm sure I can find something like it, somewhere, sometime.

I realize I didn't included on LBD.  I think it's because I don't really want a LBD. (I already have one, but it won't work for next weekend).

I'm taking a blogging break this weekend as it is the last weekend the pool is opened (that I'll be home for).  I plan on soaking up as much sun and warm weather I can.  Hopefully C will be able to join me.

But first we must celebrate my mom's birthday tonight.  If my math's correct, she's 29.

Happy Birthday, Mom!
