Pollyanna

The kids are down for a nap (except the one that requires the most attention) and I'm done with work for the day, so I thought I'd give you a bit of an update.

If I told you the house was a mess in the last post, it still is, so not much has changed in that regard.  Instead of cleaning it, I've made myself a lattuccino (one latte + one cappuccino because that's what would fit in my cup), turned the news on (which has been A++ the last twenty four hours) and pulled out the computer.

Monkey starts kindergarten tomorrow and has a loose tooth.  She's going to college in a few weeks and getting married at the end of the year.  It all goes by too fast.

GMac is refusing to completely potty train which bodes as a problem for starting school in two weeks.

Dex is six months and has no teeth and not rolling over.  He's going to be a baby forever!! But he is sitting up, see?

Evidence of the mess I we need to clean up.

Things have been a bit overwhelming lately (post vacation blues and getting ready for school) so yesterday I made myself be a Pollyanna and list things I'm "glad about."

-We have three healthy and very happy kids. (Yes, they can be a bit loud and not-listeny sometimes)

-We live in a wonderful neighborhood with wonderful neighbors. (Even though they gave us all the      crabgrass.)

- Our kids have a wonderful pre-school and kindergarten to attend. (Last minute (read: day before school starts) doctor's visits for the win!)

- Ditto regarding our church and church family.

- There are books to read. Lots of books. (You can always be glad about books and I read TWO books on vacation!)

- It's still summer and still light out after 8:00 p.m. (Except for weekends, the pool is now closed during the week.)

I took tons of vacation pictures and will try to share those with you soon, but Dex isn't happy about something (it's been three whole minutes since I gave him my attention).
