Mulled Cider

It's supposed to be cold again in Ohio tonight. Yippee! For the brief time the cold weather is here you must try this mulled cider. If only to make your house smell of sweet spices. This recipe is easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Mulled Cider

1 quart apple cider
2 Tbs. mulling spice (we had Williams-Sonoma)
orange peel or slices
lemon peel or slices

Throw everything into a large sauce pan. It's best to put the mulling spice in it's own holder (tea leaf holder, cheese cloth, or if you're my sister a small strainer with a coffee filter tied on top).

Bring to a boil and simmer until you're tired of smelling mulled cider OR it's all gone.

Serve warm.

This recipe is greatly enhanced if you have fantastic inlaws that gifted you with the perfect mulled cider vessel. They know the way to your heart!
