sacrificies

For those of you who read C's blog, you've probably already read that starting today he's decided to give up t.v. (and let's face it, a little bit of me as well) for lent.  For those of you who don't read his blog, he's giving up t.v. for lent. I kid you not.

This is huge because I watch a lot of t.v. Especially when there are college basketball tournaments going on.  But even without those tournaments I still watch a lot of t.v.

So I've decided to tone down my watching so that he can stay in the same room as me.  I've got BIG plans for what to do when I'm not watching t.v.  So far they include finally figuring out how to stretch my blog banner across the screen and making an icon that appears next to my URL.  It may just take all 40 days to get those two things done. Scratch that, centered the banner last night. Now to make it longer... Scratch all of that. I was on a roll last night and did all the blog tweaks I intended to save for Lent.

Fortunately some of the shows we watch (or just I watch) are going on hiatus for a few weeks.
- The Office
- 30 Rock
- How I Met Your Mother
- Gossip Girl (ok, that one is just me.)

But there are still several shows that are sticking around.
- Selling New York
- Tosh.0
- Teen Mom 2
- Big Love
- Sister Wives
- Bethenny Ever After
- Diner's, Drive-ins, and Dives
- 19 Kids and Counting
- SportsCenter
- House Hunters
- House Hunters International
- Property Virgins
- anything on Food Network (minus Paula Deen)
- and many other shows I watch whenever I fancy

This also includes watching the end of a Cavs game when they are going to win, the end of a Heat game when then are going to lose (yay!!), series on DVD (it'll be a while before I can start season 2 of The Big Bang Theory), and just curling up on the couch to watch some random movie while C plays with my hair (I LOVE to have my hair played with - now that I have a husband I don't have to ask random girl friends - let's face it, I have a total of 2 - to do it).

So please say a little prayer for both of us.  That C can stick to his guns and that I don't suffer too many withdrawal symptoms.

I do have final say over his rules.  If something is noteworthy I can give him a t.v. pass (oooo, I should make some pretty t.v. passes) so that he does not miss the next worldwide news event.  I'm thinking if and when Jenelle gets arrested on Teen Mom 2 would be worthy of a t.v. pass.

And what I am giving up you ask?  Mochas.  Per C's suggestion.  I don't love mochas, but I do enjoy them every once in a while (but never in the summer).  Last night C brought home my last mocha for the next 40 some days.  It was even in the new Starbucks cup.  It looked so fake it looked like it had come right off a move set. If you know both of us at all you're probably thinking "shouldn't they switch what they are giving up?" Yes. We should.  But I'm afraid that would indicate the end times are upon us.
