weekend rewind

I spent too much time in the sun today (2.5 hours without sunscreen) and am radiating enough heat to heat a Subway oven, so I'm going to keep this short.

This was supposed to be our staycation weekend, but was only really 50% so I've decided to try again next weekend.  Without the work part.

Friday
- C and I went to Uno's.  We always go there craving Chicago style pizza and leave with the craving not satisfied.
- We then saw Get Him to the Greek.  It was much funnier than I thought it would be.
- Went to sleep to the noise of a fight occurring at The Rug.  I am intending to post about this fine, fine establishment. I promise.

Saturday
- We were able to sleep in.
- I had an event to attend for work and C had to work as well.
- While driving home from said event, I went through a small little town and noticed an LC-MS church sign.  Since I know there isn't an LC-MS church in that town, rather an ELCA church posing as an LC-MS church, I decided to take a picture to send to the LC-MS headquarters.

The Sign

The Church

- I had every intention of going to the pool afterwards, but the weather didn't really cooperate.
- I instead watched the USA v. England soccer/football match.  It did not disappoint.
- I also did laundry but have not yet folded it.  There may or may not be a mountain of clean, wrinkly clothes in our kitchen.
- C returned home.  We ate and went on a walk to get some ice cream.
- We figured we'd watch another Russell Brand movie and ending the evening with Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Sunday
- C and I got engaged 44 months ago today.  You could also look at it as "44 months ago today, I did not get the Indians brick I was hoping for."
- For the first time in a long time I went to church.  It was very nice to be back.
- Lunched at McDonald's and explained soccer to C (despite him having ref'ed for several years when he was a teen).
- Headed to the pool and turned into a lobster.
- Went to church's Strawberry Festival.  Yummy.
- Now I'm lathering on the Ocean Potion Magic Lotion and praying I can move in the morning.

You would have one great big Popeye arm by now if he had given you an Indians brick to wear on your left hand.

I hope you survive the sunburn. Ouch.

Love,
